You can use just the English, just the Spanish or both! I use the word cards and mini word walls to inspire writing in my little ones during writer's workshop, or during our literacy centers. We use them in pocket charts, hole punch them and put them on binder rings. The kids use them to write stories, respond to literature, spell with magnet letters or tiles, copy on magna doodles or dry erase boards and so much more! My kids are OBSESSED. And so am I! I have never seen so much action in my writing center during our literacy block.

I like teaching about all things winter and snow!

I like teaching about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr!
I like reading blogs about the different books teachers use - especially season like books. I just bought Sneezy Snowman from Amazon because of Deanna Jumps blog. I try to incorporate literature into many aspects of what I teach...I only have my kinders for 2 1/2 hours a day so I incorporate as much as I can into that small time frame. My favorite "thing" to teach about is seasons and the different things that happen during that season. As where I live now, we do not have "seasons". I also try to find things that are not native to where we live: farms, oceans, snow, grass, trees, etc. Right now we will be learning about winter and things that happen during the winter time.
We LOVE learning about Jan Brett... especially the Mitten and the Hat! Amazing author---you can do so much with her stuff!

In January, I like to read and do activities about snowmen, specifically, Caralyn Buehner's books. Love them! And, love your mitten activities! Looks amazing! Jan Brett is a favorite of mine, too!
