Family Word Walls

I went so crazy with my new Scrappin' Doodles clip art that I made a super cute resource for your classroom!  It is 14 pages of word cards and mini word walls with a family theme.  I LOVE using these in my classroom because the kids constantly refer to them.  Thematic print like this not only teaches spelling and vocabulary, but it helps little ones to be independent and builds their confidence.

This unit includes large word cards (2" by 7.5") and mini word walls in both Spanish and English.  They are perfect for Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms, as well as older students in Spanish and Bilingual classrooms.

I cut and laminate the word cards, then use them in a variety of ways, like:
  • Placing them on the word wall while we are learning about family
  • Use them in a pocket chart as a reference or a game
  • Hole punch them and place them on a binder ring.  These rings stay in my writing center all year
  • Use them as flashcards
  • Use them to play memory
  • Use them in a word work center, spelling the words with magnet letters, stamps, magna doodles, etc
I always have at least one mini word wall displayed on my writing table.  All you need to do is print these babies up, cut them to 8x10" and put them in a clear plastic frame.  I got my frames at Christmas Tree Shoppe.  When we are done with a unit, I put the new word wall in the frame and put the old one in a clear sleeve in a binder.  We call this our class dictionary, and this way the kids can access the words all year.  They love it!

This word wall unit is now available in my TPT Store by clicking {HERE}.  It is on sale for $2.00 this week only!  Enjoy!
